We are your friends, neighbors,

partners, and fellow riders.

Our volunteers, participants, and sponsors make Grassroots Gravel possible.

Making this a reality takes all of us. Our vision is an event for everyone that’s produced at the same level as the best events in the industry. Volunteers are the lifeblood of events. Sponsors are often the fuel to get events moving, and play a critical role in support and more. And our participants! Without participants what is an event?

To all of you: thank you.

Meet our team

Behind the scenes, on the mic, and running around our events you’ll see these smiling (or in this instance, one far-too-serious) faces.

Grassroots Gravel was founded by Adam Davidson (center) on the belief that everyone should be able to get outside and play, and also that having an annual world-class event is important for the Pueblo region. Clémence Heymelot (right) of Phase Clé Events is our Operations Director, and a cycling event expert with nearly a decade of elite production experience. And lastly, Abby Davidson (left) is the foundation that made Grassroots Gravel possible. She’s the wrangler of details, passionate advocate for the region (and her colleagues and students at CSU-Pueblo!), and Adam’s partner and enabler of his time to launch Grassroots Gravel.

  • For a decade, I’ve spent hundreds of hours each year working to improve the access and sustainability of Pueblo’s outdoor recreation amenities, with a heavy emphasis on trails. This region has my heart, and I’m here to share my love of this place and people.

My background professionally is in marketing, most recently working with utilities and large manufacturers across the country promoting industrial-scale energy efficiency. Those savings have a huge impact on this planet we all share!

Before all of this, I studied Recreation Management and Outdoor Education, then completed a Masters in Sustainable Communities.

Now I’m focused on working with the community and regional stakeholders to enhance the quality of life, public health, and local economy of Pueblo, CO. Let’s ride some bikes.

  • I’ve spent the last decade perfecting my skills in the event industry after graduating with a Master’s in Sport Management & Sporting Events. I have grown fond of building experiences for small groups of friends or soon-to-be friends in search of the perfect blend of comfort, challenge, and adventure in the outdoors, as well as planning and running bigger scale events such as mass cycling races, fundraising events, and community-based events, with a touch of French culture.

After acting as the Event Director for a California-based production company for over seven years, delivering a unique brand of high-end cycling events, I decided to expand my audience and playground, and I am now focusing on Phase Clé, offering consulting and production assistance to other businesses seeking to leverage events to build brand awareness and make an impact within their community.

I believe that la clé (the key) to the successful execution of an event is about the plan.

  • I am proud to call Pueblo, Colorado my hometown. After living away from Pueblo for about a decade, Adam and I decided to set down our roots in Pueblo with our daughter Cora. I love riding bikes to connect with family and friends, and to push my mental and physical limits. I also find joy through running with my dogs, trying new recipes in the kitchen, and cheering Cora when she's swimming.

When not riding bikes, I am a higher education professional, and have proudly served my hometown institution Colorado State University Pueblo since 2014. I work in STEM student support and grant management for Hispanic Serving Institute (HSI STEM) grants funded via the Department of Education. My educational background is in science and sustainability education, and my expertise is in program development, campus tutoring, and student support strategies.
