Why Pueblo? First…this is our home and we love it. Pueblo offers ideal gravel riding conditions with a mix of rolling terrain, open landscapes, and quiet roads. Grassroots Gravel showcases some of the best gravel cycling routes in Southern Colorado.

Gravel Race Distances and Course Options

Riders can choose from four gravel race distances in Pueblo, Colorado, ranging from beginner-friendly routes to epic endurance rides. All of our routes are on well-maintained roads.

  • The Mild - 15 OR 19 miles
    (non-competitive ride)
    How is The Mild two distances? Folks have the option to descend back to town from Aid 1 as an out-and-back or complete the longer loop alongside the Arkansas River.

  • The Lil Chile - 39 miles
    (timed, race or ride)

  • The Half - 75 miles
    (timed, race or ride)

  • The Whole - 113 miles
    (timed, race or ride)

Is Grassroots Gravel beginner friendly?

Yes. Grassroots Gravel is designed to be a welcoming and accessible gravel cycling event for all riders. With multiple distance options and a supportive atmosphere, first-time riders can confidently participate alongside experienced racers.

Grassroots Gravel is the late-season festival, ride and race you’re looking for. We’re here to welcome you and remind you to have fun. Whether this is your first race or you’re a pro looking to push yourself on legendary courses, this is a place for you.

Just a lil example - throwing a big ol’ wheelie at the summit of a 3,000 foot climb above Beulah, Colorado halfway through your 113 mile gravel race. Whatever your pace, you’ll find your fun in this race.
